The series „8820+/-“ shows diverse insights to the idyllic village of Neumarkt in Styria with its 1.790 souls and its environment. Beside pictures of atypically living old-established inhabitants it presents shots of those being on the cusp of forming their identities. Will they option for the traditional ways of life dominating in rural communities or will they pluck up courage for being different. Moreover the series includes pictures from places and objects that on the one hand characterize the site and on the other hand can be regarded as documents for for a proceeding standstill.
